Discerning Audio Enthusiasts Rejoice:
New PTM-33 Mono In-Ear Monitor System Has Arrived
Discover the challenges traditional stage monitors pose to sound monitoring in live performances. In this blog, we introduce Phenyx Pro’s entry-level mono monitoring series as a solution and highlight the latest addition, the PTM-33 mono IEM system, which will soon be released in May. Learn how the innovative system can elevate your on-stage experience.
Sound monitoring is essential to live performances, and it is vital for each band member to hear the overall sound while they can also monitor their individual tracks distinctly. Traditional stage monitors, though adored by some, can fall short and even complicate live stages by introducing unnecessary feedback and noises. To address your concerns, Phenyx Pro developed the beginner-friendly and budget-friendly Mono In-Ear Monitoring Series, including the PTM-11 (single channel), PTM-22 (dual channel), and PTM-33 (quad channel) systems. We already launched the PTM-11 and PTM-22 systems, and they have garnered a positive response in the market.
This May, we are thrilled to unveil our latest breakthrough, the PTM-33, the quad-channel addition designed to delight discerning audio enthusiasts and live bands. This blog is to introduce this entry-level wireless in-ear monitoring system in detail, showcase its ingenious flexible connections, and reveal how it redefines your monitoring experience to elevate your on-stage performance.
Mono In-Ear Monitoring Series: Designed for Live Show
Hearing themselves clearly on stage is essential for musicians to showcase their talents. Hence, the importance of effective audio monitoring is obvious in stage performance. However, stage monitors can sometimes underperform and even bring the following challenges during live shows.
Increased stage noise. The stage could be a complex environment with amplifiers, PA systems, and wireless systems. When the volume is too loud on the floor monitor, it will potentially cause crosstalk and severe feedback. This can not only reduce audience enjoyment but also limit performers' mobility, as the audience may be frequently disturbed by increased noise and the performers would have to maintain a distance from irritating noise and wire interference.
Insufficient independent monitoring. The stage monitor will mix audio from all band members and return it all at once. The lack of independent monitoring requires more professionalism for each member to accurately track their own sound, making it a significant challenge on the stage. Furthermore, the venue setup might affect the returned sound, making the performers even more difficult to hear themselves.
Bulky monitors and cable clutter. Floor monitors are cumbersome and require long cables, complicating on-site setup. The clutter of various cables on stage also detracts from the stage atheistic.
Since floor monitors have the above disadvantages for a live band, choosing a good wireless in-ear monitoring system is wise for more effective rehearsals and performances. Therefore, we released the entry-level PTM-11/22/33 mono monitoring series, including the single-channel PTM-11, dual-channel version PTM-22, and quad-channel version PTM-33, which boasts three appealing features. Firstly, the tunable UHF frequency design provides reliable wireless stability without interference and dropouts. Secondly, the transmitter features left/right inputs and loop outputs compatible with widely-compatible TS jacks, which enables more connections and a flexible setup. Last but not least, the bodypack receiver adopts the beginner-friendly mono-monitoring mode.
In other words, this series empowers you to move freely on stage, interact anytime with passionate fans, and share a monitor station with your bandmates while personalizing your own monitoring experience. It balances not only professionalism and convenience perfectly but also affordability and quality. The flexible and diversified wireless monitoring experience lets you focus more on your content. Whether you are a novice, semi-professional, or professional musician already, you can now better navigate your music adventures with our mono IEM series
PTM-33: Designed for Live Band
The PTM-33 system is the innovative quad-channel addition to our mono monitoring series, specially designed for the 4-member live band. Let's dive into its specific advantages in the following.
Ingenious integrated monitor station. Multiple discrete mixes (1 mix for PTM-11, 2 mixes for PTM-22, and up to 4 mixes for PTM-33) offer a flexible and diverse monitoring experience. In the same shell as the PTM-22, the PTM-33 wireless transmitter expands the previous two channels to four channels. It provides four groups of left/right inputs and loop outputs that require only four auxiliary jacks on one audio mixer to handle diversified monitoring requirements for a four-member band. The integrated monitor station allows you to share audio monitoring with your bandmates or forge personalized monitoring mixes.
If you want to send a signal (e.g., AUX 1 signal) to all channel receivers, please connect the signal-sending device to a LOOP OUT left/right jack and then daisy chain this signal to other channels, according to the diagram below.
Exceptional entry-level monitoring experience. The zero-latency, mono in-ear monitoring design makes your audio tracking a breeze. Regardless of where you stand or how loud the rest of your band and the environment are, you can hear your own mix crystal clearly and focus on your content on the live stage while moving and dancing as you like. There’s no more feedback and ambient noise annoying you throughout your performance. Even a fledgling can play on the live stage as perfectly as in the rehearsal.
*Note: The PAD button of the transmitter (only for PTM-11/22) lowers the input gain to prevent loud input sources from overloading and clipping the preamplifier.
Reliable wireless transmission. Selectable UHF frequency design allows you to choose the desired frequency with one touch and avoid interference. The PTM-11/22 has 50 adjustable frequency groups, and the PTM-33 has 25 frequency groups. Fuss-free synchronization process through IR sync, and you can quickly link up the transmitter with multiple bodypack receivers as you like. The guaranteed wireless stability by Phenyx Pro stretches up to 50m/164ft without dropouts and feedback.
*Note: You are suggested not to use multiple transmitters simultaneously for better transmission. But each channel can connect to as many bodypack receivers as you need.
Professional meets convenience. The PTM-33 frees you from wire entanglement and allows you to move freely with the sturdy and compact bodypack on stage or in the studio. The 42cm/16.5in shareable integrated monitor station satisfies diverse monitoring needs, saving the rack space and making it easier to tour around. The package also includes the antenna rackmount kit to facilitate your easy rackmount workflow. The inputs and outputs of the transmitter are compatible with commonly-used 1/4” TS cables (not included in the package) for easy connections.
