At the center of it all stands Mikoh David, the lead vocalist of 7th Element Party Band, exuding passion and energy, effortlessly connecting with the crowd.
This month, we are honored to interview Mikoh, a musician from Boracay, Philippines. He is a passionate and energetic performer, dedicated to delivering unforgettable performances and leveraging quality sound systems and equipment to create an immersive experience for the audience in this beautiful island paradise. Now, he will share with us the story of his musical journey.
1. Before Joining the 7th Element Party Band, what key experiences or turning points shaped your path to becoming the band’s lead vocalist?
Before joining 7th Element Party Band, I had some pivotal experiences that really shaped my journey as a lead vocalist. I used to perform with Isla Muzikeroz Band, where I honed my skills in live band settings and learned how to engage with audiences. But if I look further back, I started singing online during the pandemic. That was a game-changer for me - it helped me build a solid foundation, learn new songs, and develop my own style. When the pandemic ended, new opportunities emerged, and I was ready to take the stage. Those experiences collectively prepared me for the role I'm in now with 7th Element.

2. Could you tell us about your first time performing on stage? How did you feel in that moment?
My first time performing on stage was a total nervous wreck, tbh! I have a pretty bad case of stage fright, especially since it was a singing contest. But I just decided to trust my talent and my passion for singing. Performing in front of a crowd is a whole different ball game compared to belting out your fave tunes in the comfort of your own space. It was a wild mix of emotions, but I tried to just go with it and enjoy the moment.
3. You mentioned feeling nervous during your first time on stage. What advice would you give to new performers who are also facing stage fright?
For new performers, I'd say that starting small and gradually working your way up can help. Performing in front of friends, family, or even just a small group of people can help you build confidence and get comfortable with being on stage. And don't be afraid to make mistakes – they're an opportunity to learn and grow.
4. When performing at different events, what kinds of unexpected challenges have you faced, and how do you usually adapt to them?
Performing at various events, big or small, I've encountered a range of unexpected challenges. One major hurdle is often the sound quality - whether it's a subpar microphone, mixing issues, or inadequate stage monitoring. However, I've been fortunate to have invested in Phenyx Pro In-ear monitors before my gigs took off. These have been a game-changer, allowing me to adapt to any on-stage audio challenges. Even when event organizers control the sound systems and we can't tweak the settings, my Phenyx Pro system ensures I can perform at my best. With years of experience and reliance on this tech, I've learned to seamlessly adjust to less-than-ideal sound situations, thanks to my trusty in-ear monitors.
5. Could you share a performance there that really stands out in your memory, and what made it so special?
Every show in Boracay is unforgettable, but what makes them truly special is the island's infectious energy and the audience's warm appreciation. There's nothing quite like the rush of applause and the genuine compliments from the crowd - it's a huge confidence booster! For me, it's not just about the talent, it's also about trusting the gear. I've had the privilege of performing with the reliable Phenyx Pro Microphones and my trusty In-Ear Monitor system, which I've invested in over the years. When you trust your craft and your tools, it shines through to the audience. It's all about that synergy between talent, tech, and the crowd's enthusiasm!

6. You mentioned that Phenyx Pro has been a great support for your performances. How did you first come across our brand, and what was your first impression?
To be honest, I had no idea about Phenyx Pro before I stumbled upon the PTM-11 while searching for affordable in-ear monitors online. My first impression of the product was wow, the design looks so sleek and professional! And when I dug deeper into its features, I was even more impressed. What really stood out to me was the brand's extensive range of products - from in-ear monitors and microphones to mixers and speakers. It's clear that Phenyx Pro is dedicated to providing a comprehensive solution for performers and audio professionals. I was like, 'This could be the one!' And after giving it a try, I'm so glad I took the chance.
7. Have you also tried any other Phenyx Pro products? If so, could you share your experience with them?
I'm totally stoked about my experience with Phenyx Pro! Winning the PTU-52 wireless microphone in their Lazada giveaway was a total surprise bonus! I've been rocking the PTM-11 in-ear monitors for my gigs, and I'm obsessed with its real-time monitoring feature - it's a total game-changer! Phenyx Pro also hooked me up with the PTU-X transmitter and the PM26 wired microphone to try out together, and I'm blown away by how well they work together! The PM26 is seriously impressive - it handles my voice like a pro, especially when I'm belting out those high notes. It captures every nuance and detail, and it feels super professional in my hand. I love how it picks up my tone and dynamics, making my performances sound amazing. I'm absolutely loving the Phenyx Pro gear - it's been a game-changer for my shows, and I feel like I'm taking my music to another level!

8. Within our product line, is there a product that you don’t currently own but would really like to try?
I'm really curious about the PTAU-2 - I've been following reviews and feedback on this product for a while now, and I'm eager to try it out. With events lined up for next month, I think it could be a game-changer for my performances. Unfortunately, it's a bit out of my budget at the moment. I'm also interested in the PTU-1U, thanks to a friend who's been raving about it. Since I haven't used a microphone in that price range before, I'm excited to see how they compare to what I'm using now.

9. If you had to recommend Phenyx Pro to other musicians in just one sentence, what would you say?
I would say:
Listen, if you're looking for gear that's gonna give you pro-level sound without breaking the bank, I've gotta recommend Phenyx Pro - I've used it myself and it's seriously taken my sound to the next level!
