The Phenyx Pro PDP-2 digital is a really good bang for the buck. Having been using the PTU-71 system for some time, we did not expect this affordable option to compare. The sound quality is not quite as crisp as the PTU-71 wireless system and the microphones are significantly light in weight. However, the PDP-2 system sound was still very good for this affordable option.The range on this unit is also very good with no interference or cut out for approximately 80 feet through walls. We tested this with the receiver indoors and the transmitters (microphones) outdoors and through three floors of a building. The microphone never cut out inside and only cut out at a long distance outdoors (with the receiver still indoors).Changing channels was a little confusing because the instruction manual talked of pairing (which is typical). However, upon testing we noted this isn’t necessary. The receiver switches automatically recognizing the channels as each microphone (transmitter) is set.The only major con we noted was the battery life on the microphones (transmitters). The included AA batteries were new and sealed but lasted around 2 hours of use. This definitely falls short of some of the other Phenyx wireless systems.Pros: Price – 2 quality wireless microphones for under $100, Sound quality is above average, Range is great, Ease of use in changing frequencies, USB Rechargeable receiver (brick not included) and you can use while it’s chargingCons: Battery life is extremely limited compared to other Phenyx microphones, Shared receiver offers less flexibility for personalized sound if both microphones are in useOverall, we will be using these in Eden On Fire. They are good microphones.

I just unboxed my new Phenyx Pro PDP-2 (Dual Wireless Mic System). I ordered on Phenyx pro, and it was here in no time. My first reaction was positive as the mics were solid and felt good in my hands. After charging up the receiver, I had an excellent opportunity to try it out at an outdoor Memorial Day ceremony. The sound was crystal clear with no dropouts noted. Due to the mic’s pick-up pattern, you needed to be close to the mic to achieve the best level. I liked the fact that everything was compact and plugged the ? inch jack directly into the back of my loudspeaker. The PDP=2 comes with a handy right-angle adaptor that allows you to plug the receiver in vertically. It also comes with an adapter to plug mic into a 3.5mm plug. Although the transmitter is advertised with a 200 ft range, I wasn’t able to test this limit. I did, however, get great results as far as 75 ft. (It’s rare that I would ever be further than this at any venue.) It is also important to note that the receiver was baking in the hot Florida sun for over an hour and it didn’t seem to negatively impact the performance. All in all, it was a good experience, and I would recommend this to anyone that needs a worry free, quick, and value-priced mic set-up. As always, it would be great if the folks at Phenyx Pro would make their instruction manual with larger font. For some of us, it’s difficult to read the micro print in the manual.

If you need something that is really portable, this is it!!! From build quality, range, and battery life, this is 5 stars. Signals come out bass-heavy, but I prefer that over tinny. Included adapters and windscreen are an excellent touch. I only wish there was a high and low output gain toggle so I could use this with my cheap karaoke machine. This works excellently with any portable sound system, great for a quick setup. My favorite part is that the receiver is battery-powered as well. If you use this with a battery-powered speaker, you're ready to rock cordless. Really happy with this product!

This set is super awesome. The sound quality is on point, but what I really like is the versatility. It has the wireless receiver (that works really well...no delay or degradation in sound quality, and instant connection) that has both a straight male connector and a 90 degree, allowing you to connect it to different types of speakers. I can plug this into my guitar amp and it sounds great, but can also plug it into the portable karaoke machine, which we did last night at the park for my daughter's surprise birthday. It even has an aux adapter so you can plug it into a tiny portable speaker. The receiver is usb charging, which is awesome. Only complaint is that I wish the mics were too because they kills the 2 double A's required relatively quickly. My ten, now eleven year old, and I like to sing karaoke together and this set lets us dual mic it simply and easily. We have several karaoke machines and these mics sound the best out of any of them and really with tech these days, having your device Bluetooth connected to a device with the mics either plugged into a different speaker is a great way to go for karaoke. We play music through the Sonos now, with Apple Music, which gives you the scrolling lyrics and lets you play the song with the lyrics off or at half volume, and my guitar amp for the mics. Great setup and tons of fun.

I am a mobile DJ event business owner. I am mostly a Shure / Sennheiser guy but after a few events with my Shure's having some drops and interference I decided to look around to see what's out there. I started my Phenyx Pro journey using their PTU 7000 2H2B for wedding ceremonies. It has not disappointed yet I had set up for a wedding about 200 feet from where the officiant is going to be and it worked flawlessly as expected. (see picture above)As the owner of a mobile DJ and event company we do many events but during this time of year (summer) it is mostly weddings with multiple set up sites and many needs to be mobile. This lead me to try the PDP-2. I want to say the mobility of this handheld is second to none it is battery powered (good battery) and able to be charged by my Everse 8 if needed and plug and play (for the most part and I'll get to that)I used these at three different events and after the events I was blown away at the use of them. Let me tell you that as a Shure / Sennheiser at these mobile outdoor events I couldn't hear a difference between the Phenyx Pro that I own.I will say for my voice being low this mic can be a bit punchy plugged directly into the speaker but through a mixer I can adjust it to sound as good as anything else I ownThe feel of these mics feel good with a full metal handle and easy to install batteries and change channel if you need to. My only concern is the antennae on the receiver but I created a space in my small cable bag where it's protected.The first event I used this plugged directly into a speaker to make announcements at a cocktail site (separate from ceremony and reception areas). Plugged directly into the Everse 8 I found it to be clear. and again the mobility here was what I needed most.The second event I used it for both a cocktail mic and a reception mic for my own announcements. Let me say that I replaced my Shure mic for my announcements during the reception again I was very happy with these and the mic itself i.

I got my new Phenyx Professional PDP-2 today. All I can say is this thing is awesome. Amazing clarity and range. I tested it using my JBL eon one compact and I also hooked it up to my studio monitors at my office. I have a shared office space and was able to walk all over the building and maintain constant connection and clear sound. Then we came home and my niece and I hooked it up to the jbl. I had her walk down my drive way and down the road never once loosing signal. I can't wait to try this out this weekend using my regular system! This is definitely going to lighten my load on setup! I give it a 10 out of. 10 so far. I will update after the weekend!!7/26 Update -I used these mics at 2 weddings this weekend. They did amazing. I had to change the channel on one mic and didn't have any issues!

These sound amazing. They are better than the cord mic we already had. Reccomend! They sound crisp and great range. They last a long time and perform as advertised.

The Pheny X Pro series wireless dual mic system works well. I needed a mic system for my portable speaker in my classroom. This mic is very easy to set up. It is basic plug and go. Great sound. No crakling or static noise. Includes easy instructions, rechargeable receiver, 2 microphones, 2 foam mic covers, 4 AA batteries, 1 angle TS to male, 1/4'' TS to female adapter, USB -C, charging cable. 200 ft. Range. Absolutely everything you need for set up is included. Note: you do need to hold the mic close while speaking into mic.

These microphones are so easy to set up. I am not a tech savvy person but the instructions were good and helping me figure out what to do. You will need to charge the receiver first before using this. The cable is included. There are AA batteries included for the wireless microphones. Once charged and ready, plug it in and go! This is not Bluetooth enabled but it does connect well and has a good range. I am very please with this product. I would highly recommend it!

I have been using Phenyx Pro PTU 71A systems for over a year and have been pretty happy. I have them rack mounted and ready to go when needed. I wanted something portable and easy to set up for loaners. The Phenyx Pro Dual Wireless Handheld system exactly what I was looking for. During the pandemic, I tried some of the other low-cow cost options that had plug in receivers but they suffered from interference and the build quality was poor. The PDP-2 passed the eye test and I was impressed on the transmitters. They felt like the PTU-71 handheld mics so the weight was nice. These use 2 AA batteries so be prepared to have some spares although the unit ships with enough batteries to get you started. The receiver is a compact unit that plugs directly into your mixer, powered speaker etc. Pairing instructions were pretty straight forward and I was testing the first transmitter in no time. During my first test, I walked around an empty hall and was at least a 100 ft away from the receiver. I didn't notice any interference or dropout issues. I then paired the second mic and did the same. I did adjust the EQ on my mixer to add some warmth. I tested both mics from 1ft apart to 50 ft apart and had no issues at all. For less than $80 you get a great dual wireless mic system in a small convenient package. I am planning on using these for a talk at our university next week so I'll see how these work under pressure. I didn't see any individual gain controls on the transmitters so there is no way to adjust each mic individually. That would be my only negative. I would highly recommend these as a back up for DJs, small venues, offices, 1 time presentations. These will be cheaper than your rental fees so don't be afraid to take the risk with these. I'm hoping they offer a lav and headset version of the PDP-2 soon. Great job Phenyx Pro.
