How to Use USB Function for the PRX-600 Mixer

This tutorial article is going to guide you through the USB function for the Phenyx Pro PRX-600 audio mixer.

We have covered the Bluetooth function of the Phenyx Pro PRX-600 audio mixer in another blog post (check it out HERE).  In this article, we are going to introduce the USB function for this audio mixer that enables you to both play and record music.

1- HOW TO PLAY MUSIC FOR PRX-600

STEP ONE
Connect the power adapter. Please make sure that the position and direction of the concave on the power adapter match the bulge on the socket. Do not insert the power cord violently.

STEP TWO
Press the switch button under the 5/6 channels to activate the Bluetooth/USB mode. Please note that you cannot use 5 & 6 channels and the Bluetooth function at the same time. When the switch is pressed up,  you can use the following six output channels including the fifth and sixth channels as stereo inputs. When the switch is pressed down, you can use the first four channels and the Bluetooth/USB inputs.

STEP THREE
Press the power switch near the power adapter, and the display screen will show "No" as default.

STEP FOUR
Insert the USB drive and wait for the device to retrieve audio files. If this is the first time you use the USB drive, it will automatically start from the top of the list. Otherwise, it will start from the last audio file you played.

When the song plays smoothly, you can control the playback of your songs by clicking the following buttons on the mixer:
  • P/P button - play/pause songs
  • PREV button - select previous songs
  • NEXT button - select next songs

You can also increase volume by long-pressing the NEXT button and decreasing it by long-pressing the PREV button. When using USB, you can unlock different play modes by long-pressing the P/P button. Enjoy the freedom of switching between repeat, random, and loop modes.

2 - HOW TO RECORD MUSIC FOR PRX-600

So next, let's talk about how to record audio in USB mode.

STEP ONE
Press the Mode button and select “rEC”. One important thing. You need to make sure that there is at least one MP3 file in the USB stick to activate the USB recording function. You cannot record audio to an empty USB stick.

STEP TWO
Press the P/P button to start recording. When the recording is finished, long press the P/P button to save the file. It will be added as the last song on the list and automatically saved in an MP3 format.

STEP THREE
To exit the recording mode, we will need to press the mode button again. It is important to note that the USB function cannot work with the Bluetooth function at the same time.

We have also created a tutorial video to walk you through the process. Check it out now!
