PM-25 | Wired Dynamic Cardioid Vocal Microphone

My son wants to get more serious with streaming so I gave this a try. You need an XLR to USB adapter to use this with a PC setup. That works fine for our tests so far.If you need top quality for clarity, for like recording your music, you'll want to pick up an audio interface which you can find for under $100 instead. The USB adapter works well enough for us, similar to a phone call quality. Pretty clear. Not immersive, but good.This has a good weight to it for a nice solid feel and comes with a clip attachment that has a fitting for most standard mic arms/stands/mini tripods.It also has a long cord, and thankfully a Velcro wrap to help keep that tidy, but if you need to set up from like 6-10feet back, you're covered.The noise reduction sponge is built into the mic (see photo) so that you don't need a soft cover over the mic for streaming.If you hold it directly to your mouth you might want an extra cover but for regular use it's great

My band " The Wise Guys " received the Phenyx Pro PM-25 and tried it out at our recent practice. Our first impression after unboxing was that the build quality seemed very good. I unplugged the XLR cable from the Shure SM-58 that I normally use at practice and connected it to the PM-25. After some gain staging I started singing the tune that we normally warm with. The audio seemed to be outstanding so I decided to do a blind sound comparison with my band mates. I connected one of our SM-58s to a second XLR and turned my back to the guys. I started alternating from one mic to the other and asked if anyone could hear a difference. They were very impressed and could hardly tell any difference. If you need any additional wired mics you will not be disappointed with the PM-25.

I tried my M25 microphone last weekend in a Gig and I was Amazed by the sound and clarity of the voice they deliver. I will recommend this to anyone who has a band or wherever voice is used. AMAZING

Used it in my last group gig and it performed great. Nice and clean vocals, hard to believe it could be compared to more expensive models out there. Love this Mike

This microphone is on par with the Shure sm58. Got it a week ago and right out of the box at our first gig with it the sound was amazing nice and clean and could not tell a difference. The microphone has weight to it which I love nice bag for it and a cord that is quality. I needed a longer once I didn't use the one it came with but it is a nice cord as well. Highly recommend this

I'm truly impressed with this microphone! So far I have no complaints! Everything included is solid. I like the cable as it is decent length and has a quality professional feel. The included clip is a great touch because not all clips are created equally. The bag for carrying the microphone is great just because you don't have to worry about the mic being totally exposed to the elements! Now the microphone build itself is very sturdy. I greatly appreciate the anti-roll grill! The metal body has real weight to it. In comparison to the Shure SM58 the PM-25 feels comparable in my opinion. I was not able to do a direct comparison with all, however, I have used the SM58, Behringer XM8500, and Samson R21 for several years. I appreciate the way the PM-25 sounds. I first tested it connected directly to a powered speaker with no EQ adjustments. I found the mic to be fairly responsive as described. It did not require me to boost the gain too much in order to have decent output. I compared it with a PTAU-2 wireless microphone just to have an idea of how much gain the PM-25 required. Also, using a mixer I was able to directly compare with an SM58. There was no discernable difference in output with both channels set at unity gain. When listening to the PM-25 in comparison to the PTAU-2 Hand held the microphones sounded nearly indistinguishable. When testing against the SM58, the SM58 was slightly brighter than the PM-25. However, this is absolutely minor and at this price point is in no way a deal breaker! It is practically a selling point! This mic is definitely worth the price! It is definitely a great value for the price. I didn't have any issues with handling noises. While present it did not make the PM-25 unusable. I didn't drop test it, but I'm very sure the PM-25 is sturdy enough to take a beating! All in all a solid selection that rivals big names and is more than comparable.

When I pulled this out of the box, I was surprised, and excited!you can take it straight from the box, and plug it right into the speaker to begin using it!The cord is thick, and the microphone is heavy. It definitely feels professional.I didn't hear any static through the mic as I used it. Sound quality is clear.

This is a reasonably good copy of the ubiquitous Shure SM58, and there is a lot to like about it. It's solidly built, and handling noise is minimal. It is slightly "brighter" than the SM58 (or a Sennheiser e835), but for some voices that could be a plus. A side-by-side recording of this mic and an SM58 produced similar results, so the difference may not be that significant.The included cable is pretty standard. The connectors are decent, the visible solder joints are good, but I would have liked to see a few inches of shrink tubing as a strain relief at each end. 5 meters (16.4 ft.) is an unusual length for the American market--10 ft. or 20 ft. would have made more sense, but this is not designed just for our market.One issue--the mic clip is useless--there is no way to tightened it properly. This is because the slot in the base is .2mm wider than the tab on the mic holder, so no matter how much you tighten the screw it will only partially grip.All and all, however, this is a decent mic, but for the money I prefer the Behringer XM8500 at less than half the price, but without an XLR cable.
