PM-26 | Wired Dynamic Supercardioid Vocal Microphone

I already use several Phenyx Pro wireless products, so I decided to give this microphone a try—and I’m very glad I did. Overall, I am extremely pleased with it.The microphone is all metal and feels solid and well-made, with a male XLR connector. The package includes everything you need: the microphone itself, a storage bag, a mic stand clip, and a 16 ft XLR cable, which is a nice bonus.Sound-wise, this mic really impressed me. The supercardioid pickup pattern delivers strong volume while maintaining a clean and focused sound. It performs far better than what you’d expect from a budget-priced microphone.If you’re looking for a durable, great-sounding mic without spending a lot, this one is a fantastic option. I would 100% recommend it.

I am blown away by this mic! It sounds as good (if not better for my high voice) than the SM58 it’s replacing. It’s got some heft and sounds super clear for both talking and singing. For the cost it’s a great value option. I got the version without an on off because I have a mute for that functionality on my mixer but I’m considering getting another to try out that version.

.This is a solid mic with good specs at a tremendous value for the quality it offers. The construction feels strong in the hand and ready for stage use.The vocal pickup has a smooth character. It avoids the harsh edge that many ball type mic capsules can give, making the vocal sound more pleasing and natural.It reminds me very much of the EV RE20 I used exclusively for all stage vocals back in the 90s. I still own a pair of them, and this mic brings that same kind of reliability feel as well as its sound characteristics.Try the mic pointing downward at the bell of a sax. Very good results for live gigs.The EQ curve leans toward warm lows with a bright top end. For me, that balance works well across both speaking, singing, and especially sax.The supercardioid pattern locks focus on the voice and minimizes spill from the sides. That helps in keeping feedback under control on stage.Of course, only time will tell how it holds up to years of use, but the sound and build quality at this price point are impressive.Professional mics do not have on/off switches. I see there is a version available with an on/off switch. I strongly advise against using a switch on stage mics for many good reasons. This one is ready to be plugged in and trusted.Overall, this microphone can be used on any stage with confidence. The sound is quite good, the build is reassuring, and the value is undeniable.

Decent quality vocal mic, and for the price, a GREAT mic!This mic I bought as I was coming up to an event where we would have to run our own microphones up to a booth for them to pump through the PA system. We were on a tight budget, and so I decided to give these a go, and they definitely did the trick! The frequency response on them is great, up to about 14kHz before it starts to taper down, and very little below 50 gets picked up, which is rather nice, not having to worry about a beatboxer blowing out your sub.The mic feels substantial in your hand, nice and heavy like a good dynamic mic should be. The quality is pretty outstanding considering it only costs what it does.It came with a few extras as well, a zip up leather (faux) mic bag, a 15-20' XLR cable, and a screw on attachment for a mic stand, all of which were welcome surprises! The cable seems like it's pretty durable and doesn't get much line noise in it, so it seems properly balanced. The zippable pouch is mediocre quality, not extra soft, nor is it lined with a material I'd be confident letting the mic roll around in for too long without getting scratched, but it is a level of protection, I suppose.The biggest gripe I have is with the holder it came with--It doesn't have a ratcheted clasp for the angle joint, so it tends to slip, no matter how tight you've got the screw. It always ends up getting pulled down by the cable, even with just the small weight of the cable to the desk in my office (the majority of the cable is coiled on the desk.Other than that, if you have your own mic stand holder, and like playing with foam and pelican cases for storage, this is a really great mic at a really great price point. Pro to amateur, any sound professional could stand to have a couple of these in their arsenal.

I received the PM-26 today. I tested it and find it to be a very good dynamic mic !! I also did a comparison against the Sennheiser e835....guess what ? The PM-26 sounds a little richer/fuller/brighter than the e835. The PM-26 is definitely worth the purchase. Just an FYI, I had the gain, EQ, & effects set all the same for both mics and in my opinion, the Phenyx Pro PM-26 outshines the e835 and it's a lot less expensive. Also, the build is super solid !!....it's as solid as the e835.Next, I wanted to check and see how the PM-26 mic element compared to the PTAU-2's element. What I found surprised me. Again I kept the EQ, effects and gain all the same. The PTAU-2 was more sensitive than the PM-26. I was expecting it to be the other way around. If there's something else I need to do to make an equal comparison, someone please let me know. All-in-all, the PM-26 is a super buy, HIGHLY recommend.

Great value for this mic. Sounds great and excellent pricepoint

Wanted a decent backup mic for vocals incase something happened with our cordless and this was a great option. Phenyx Pro has really surprised me over the years and I have been using their wireless products for the last 4 years.

First impression: it’s replacing my Shure 58AWith this mic I noticed our vocals cut through mixes more because of that extra brightness and slight gain boost. If your band has loud guitars, drums, the extra top-end can help your voice cut through.But on the other end, if your vocalist has a naturally bright, high voice, you might need to tame some harshness (EQ or distance).I haven’t had any issues with feedback and this mic. It is a supercardioid pattern. It picks up more sound from the rear. Keep that in mind when position floor monitors.All in all I can tell the PM-26 is a workhorse of a mic. I will be carrying this as a main. It’s sturdy, has a great tone out of the box, comes with all the accessories you need (the XLR cable is a great bonus!). Since I prefer brighter vocals, a mic like this will always be my top choice.
