PTU-1U-1H | True Diversity Single Wireless Microphone System

Overall Value: 5At $186, this is probably one of the best "bang for your buck" budget wireless microphones. You can get two of these systems for just a little more than an entry level Shure or Sennheiser wireless microphone system. The PTU-1U/2U series microphones have metal microphones and metal receivers. The budget Shure and Sennheiser systems I believe are plastic all around.Sound Quality: 4I first tested this system plugged into a powered PA speaker. It sounded quite good right out of the box with no eq applied. I then plugged the microphone system into my computer to do some recording. I compared the sound quality to Phenyx Pro's low-end PDP series, and the PTU-1U microphone definitely sounds more rich. There was slightly more background white noise than the PDP series, but that is because the PDP series is digital. Digital systems will almost always have less noise than analog systems. But, again, using the PTU-1U with a live PA wouldn't be a problem at all. Even if you were recording a live event, the background/white noise shouldn't be a problem. One thing to note is that there is a noticeable clicking noise when you mute the microphone. The handling noise isn't great or bad, but somewhere in between. And lastly, the PTU-1U performed fairly well outside in the wind, even without a wind screen.Build Quality: 5The receiver is metal and looks very professional. The microphone itself is metal and is built like a tank. It's fairly heavy, so some people might find it tiresome to use for long periods. But, I personally like it.Wireless Performance/Range: 4I tested the PTU-1U microphone in my house and recorded it on my computer. I noticed with the transmitter power level set to high, there was a couple of times there was a buzz when very close to the receiver. Once I moved to another room, I never heard the buzz again. If you're going to be using the microphone at very close range, I would recommend setting the transmit power to low. The switch for this can be fo.

This mic has excellent feedback rejection with a pronounced proximity effect, a rugged build, and is easy to use. It actually beat out an expensive Sennheiser wireless for a very loud male metal vocalist.It requires a little bit of gain (around 50db on my 1073) and some eq to really shine (its a bit dark sounding, didnt have to cut too many lows, but i did have to hit it with a pretty significant boost in the 4.5k range to really get the clarity i require), but when you dial it in, it takes everything I could throw at it happily. The polar pattern is a little tight, if you back off like you would a 58, you're gonna fade away real quickly. If you like to eat the mic, and play loud stages, this thing is a real contender. Well see how long it lasts, I don't see how to take the capsule apart easily for cleaning. I did drop it right out the box just because, if it can't take a drop, no sense in using it right. A little ding on thr grill but nothing flew apart on me. It auto scans and sets up easily. Just buy it if you can handheld a tight pickup pattern.

These work just as good as my shure blx88 mics. As long as they hold up for years I’ll continue to buy and use these over the shure mics. They are much heavier than my shure mics, but some people like the metal heavy mics over the plastic lighter mics. I mean comparing this to my shure mics isn’t a fair comparison (these are half the cost of the blx88). These are awesome for the price point, range is just as good and clarity is just as good as mics that cost twice as much. I was skeptical to buy these honestly but glad I tried them out. 5+ stars!

I’ve been a fan of the Phenyx Pro IEMs for an over a year using them for live shows. When I got the chance to try the new PRU-1U mic I was blown away. The mic is well made and feels well made, it sounds clear and does not feedback. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Also, the price point was amazing I’ve paid 500 or more for mics and this one was half the price.

Spectacular microphone! I recently added the Ptu-1U to my rack that I use for Karaoke. I currently use the ptu-5000 but wanted to add a 5th mic so I could always have a mic and have 4 available for group songs. I love the 5000's but the PTU-1U is next level. The range for the microphone is phenomenal. Bars/restaurants can have a lot of interference but this mic has outperformed my high expectations. Range, clarity, build quality are far exceeding the $180 price point. In addition, it comes with the rack mount kit and a carrying case. If there are con here they are: Pt-1u loves batteries. I use rechargeables, so when the indicator shows low, I just change them out. I only yet my best singers use the Ptu-1U and my singers that use it feel special because they feel like they have never sounded better. My karaoke singers have spoken, and they love this mic. If your considering this mic, it is a great choice.

Every venue I am in has unique obstacles for any wireless. Lots of metal, many bends and turns, separate rooms, and tons of electric interference with phones, equipment, and lights. The microphone takes rechargeable batteries, and they last a LONG time. This unit works perfectly, and I have not experienced any dropouts. Just keep the receiver at least 3 - 4 feet from the microphone and make sure to scan for the best channel. I am sold and highly recommend you try it!

I have used this mic in practice settings, solo acoustic bar settings, and most recently a full band setting with a Shure Wireless mic, 2 shure wireless guitar systems, 4 wireless in ear monitor systems and a router for the digital mixer and have had 0 dropouts or interference. The only negatives I have noticed is that it takes a bit to set the gain and it's very sensitive to the harsher frequencies but with a little EQ, it sounds good. I would definitely recommend this mic if your looking for a reliable budget friendly wireless mic

Esto es un gran plus comparado con otras marcas como Shure o Sennheiser, que todo esto debes de adquirilo por separado.6. El receptor puede hacer un auto escaneo de las mejores frecuencias disponibles7. El fabricante vende por separado un kit de antenas para simplificar las instalaciones a medidas que necesites agregar más micrófonos. Esto es muy bueno para quien quiera empezar por un dispositivo y con el tiempo ir agregando más.Puntos negativos:1. The Phenyx Pro PTU-1U True Diversity Wireless Microphone System performs beyond expectations! The system is well packaged with a thin but study cardboard box with information and pictures on the outside.Upon opening the outer box, inside you will find a hardshell plastic case with two latches. The PHEYNX PRO name and logo are prominently displayed on both sides of the hard shell case. The case is very similar in quality to those made by other higher priced companies.Upon opening the case, the system is securely packaged in foam with cut outs for the main components.The microphone feels solid in your hand. Just by the feel you can tell it is well made and will take a drop or two.Assembling the system is quite intuitive but there is a very helpful and easy to understand instruction manual included.I inserted the batteries, powered the system on, then turned on the microphone. Immediately, the microphone and receiver locked in on a channel a with zero static, glitch, or noise interference. The volume adjustment know on the receiver really helps you dial in the perfect volume.I performed a distance test for the microphone up to about 50 feet away from the receiver without any problems or noise interference.I also performed a feedback test by both standing in the middle of my full band during rehearsal with the microphone on and getting very close to the monitors, PA, and other speakers. The microphone did not produce any feedback at any time. Oh, and I actually did drop it twice during rehearsal and no problems at all.I will using the microphone this weekend for a live show and will send another update, pics, and posts after that.The PHEYNX PRO PTU-1U is an amazing wireless microphone system that can hold it’s own against the more expensive brands. I heard a long time ago that when choosing a wireless microphone system, True-Diversity is the only way to go! The PTU-1U at a price point of $179.99 for this technology had me skeptical about it's quality.The first thing you will notice while unboxing this microphone system is the construction of the transmitter and receiver. They are both metal and feel solidly built! No cheap plastic here! PHENYX PRO also includes a lot of "extras" such as a sturdy hard case, rack mounting kit, TS audio cable with an adapter, and a useful mic anti-rolling ring!Okay now to the important stuff. During my initial testing in my room, I found a dead spot where the audio dropped out. After a quick scan using the Auto-scan feature it cleared that up right away. This model has some cool features found on much more expensive microphone systems such as IR pairing, squelch, and a lock for the receiver. This feature may sound simple, but I can't tell you how often fellow DJs call and ask me how to re sync their mics because they accidentally hit a button during setup.The range on the PTU-1U is pretty decent. I was able to walk around my 3 bedroom house with no dropouts. I did get signal loss about 20 feet outside my house in the backyard with the receiver in my studio at the front of the house.I did a tone comparison of the PTU-1U against my Shure PGXD4 with the PG58 handheld. With no EQ or compression the Shure mic had clearer mids and highs, while the PTU-1U had more low end. This can be adjusted with EQ though. The PTU-1U did have less handling noise than the Shure mic did. The battery life of the PTU-1U is by far longer than the Shure.As far as improvements I would like to see on this model by PHENYX PRO is the ability to see the handhelds battery level on the receiver. This is useful for applications where the mic is on stage and not near the mixing board. The clasp on the case does not seem like it will stand up to repeated opening and closing.Overall I would highly recommend this wir.

WOW WOW what can I say the build is amazing for the price of this Mic. Love it tested it out and audio and range is extremely amazing. Looong range no drops, you won’t be disappointed. Buy with confidence, very fast shipper.
