I’m a singer, so I grabbed this because I wanted something small that could work with a monitor/talkback setup without lugging around a giant speaker.I’m primarily using this with a mixer, so my regular vocal mic can still go out to the audience, while I can also have a separate monitor mix coming back to me. I also like the idea of having a separate talkback mic so I can say something to the sound engineer without blasting that conversation through the main speakers - I just haven’t figured that part out yet. But basically, if I need to say something like “can you turn my vocal up?” or “I need more track,” I don’t necessarily want the whole room hearing that. This gives you a way to build that kind of setup, depending on how your mixer is routed.It has the basic controls right on the front for gain, bass, treble, and volume, and it’s pretty compact for what it does. I’d mainly use it for rehearsals, recording, or smaller live setups where I want to hear a cue mix and still have an easy way to communicate with whoever is running sound.
An incredible nice personal monitor speaker, this small speaker has added a new dimension to my live music experience. I did not realize how useful a small quality monitor speaker can be for both practice and a live music experience. I can hear my guitar and my microphone clearly so I can modify the way am picking my guitar or how I sing to improve the experience for those who sing along with me. I have been primarily using this speaker as a monitor from my amplifier the Phenyx Speaker sounds very good with clear voice reproduction as well as excellent guitar amplifier sound reproduction. I use the line out from my Fender amp to the line in jack on the back of the monitor speaker. I am able to adjust the Phenyx volume so I can hear the output exactly how I want. I haven’t found a more useful device for my live music in quite awhile. So Needless to say I think this Phenyx Monitor is well worth purchasing if you want a quality tool to improve your live music experience.

The Phenyx Pro PS-M1 65W Powered Personal Monitor Speaker is an incredibly practical solution for musicians, vocalists, rehearsal spaces, churches, and live-production environments. As someone who works with live sound and performs on stage, I really appreciate equipment that solves a specific problem without adding a ton of complexity to the setup, and the PS-M1 does exactly that.For such a compact monitor, the 65W powered design provides plenty of useful output for personal monitoring. Instead of relying on a large floor wedge taking up valuable stage space, you can position this close to the performer and get the monitoring you need exactly where you need it.The standout feature for me is the talkback functionality. Communication on stage can be surprisingly difficult, especially during rehearsals, soundchecks, or between songs. Having talkback capability built into a personal monitor creates some really useful workflow possibilities for communicating with musicians or production personnel without yelling across the stage.I also appreciate that this is an active/powered monitor. There's no separate amplifier to rack, wire, and transport. Feed it the appropriate signal, supply power, dial in your monitoring level, and you're ready to work.
