My band Eden On Fire had the pleasure of testing the Phenyx Pro PTM-22 IEM system these past few weeks. I have been using the PTM-11 for sometime and expected nothing but quality from my experience with them. This is what we found. The system comes complete with everything you need for a two person in-ear monitor setup: two receiver body-packs and one transmitter with controls for separate mixes and antennas with a power supply to run the unit. There are two sets of ear buds included to use with the receivers. Mounting hardware is also included if you want to rack-mount the unit and it includes coax cables should you need to extend the antennas. Batteries for both receivers are included as well. Also included is a manual for the system, however, it is very basic for getting the system up and running with very simple trouble-shooting steps. Our first trial run with the unit went smoothly. We installed the system at our rehearsal space and used it for a three hour rehearsal. During this time, we had no issues running the system. Though there is no auto-scan feature, we picked random unique channels for each and easily paired the units. Both band members reported being able to hear clearly. The ear buds were the only complaint during this first test. They are not noise isolating and so there is bleed through. Also as the members began to sweat, the buds began to slip out of their ears.We took the receivers on a field trip throughout the large building in that we rehearse and found we could go about 150ft through multiple indoor walls before the units lost connectivity. Outside the building, through concrete walls, we were able to get around 300ft before losing the signal. Our next test took place during a live performance in a small venue. This test implemented a much more realistic use of the unit as multiple wireless units were in play. During this test, in addition to the PTM-22, we used a PTM-11, PTM-10, and a PTU-71. Though the PTM-10 and PTU-71 work on a 500MHz band.

So far I have played and tested with this unit for 2 weeks. I primarily use IEM's for a wireless speaker setup while DJing events, but have used them for band members as well. I have not had the opportunity to use the PTM-22 yet for a gig, but I feel my bench testing was sufficient enough to know how they will work in the field. They are incredibly easy to setup and to me look great!I really enjoy these unit's IR syncing. I like being able to set my frequency on the unit and syncing the pack. The body pack's receivability is great! Through multiple walls, vehicles, bodies, other electrical equipment running, and in my pocket next to my cell phone I did not experience interference or drops outs until I was 65 yards away from the transmitter. The sound quality and volume remained intact while traveling around with the packs. Then setting up the packs with a use of a speaker the sound quality was crisp and clear with yet again absolutely no drop outs or cut ins. The transmitters ability to overcome outside interference is impressive. I have yet to experience interference or cut ins from noise. The body packs are incredibly light, and you can't even tell you are wearing one. I enjoy that the volume knob is the power on vs the PMR-1's having a power button and volume knob. It's just simple and less operations in my opinion. The only complaint that I have about the body packs is that their housing feels like it can easily break. I worry that bumping into something with low force may cause these to break. Opening the battery cover can be a bit nerve racking sometimes because I am afraid of slipping and busting it right off.One thing that I wish this unit had was an auto frequency finder like their PTU-7000 Microphones have. I absolutely love that feature. I absolutely hate noise in my system so for my IEM's I carry a portable frequency analyzer to find the best frequency with the least amount of noise.I typically run a dedicated line to these units without using the loop o.

In my experience with the Phenyx Pro UHF Mono Dual Wireless in-Ear Monitor System, I encountered a notable issue of signal drop during use. While the wireless connectivity was generally reliable, there were instances where the signal dropped unexpectedly, causing interruptions in the monitoring experience. This inconsistency in signal stability was disappointing and detracted from my overall satisfaction with the product.Additionally, I found that the mono output, combined with the signal drop issue, further limited the effectiveness of the system, particularly for performers who rely on consistent and accurate monitoring during live performances or rehearsals.Despite these drawbacks, the system's solid build quality and decent sound quality may still make it a viable option for users on a budget, especially if the signal drop issue can be addressed through troubleshooting or firmware updates.Overall, while the Phenyx Pro UHF Mono Dual Wireless in-Ear Monitor System has its strengths, such as durability and affordability, the signal drop issue and mono output limitations are significant drawbacks that may warrant consideration before making a purchase.

If you need wireless iems for something that is not of a super professional level like bar gigs, or any low key none professional event center gig, church worship bands, or something of the like... these units will work wonderfully for you! I installed them at my church and they were utilized for two services with no issues at all. They have a light radio fuzz that is really tolerable and possibly comparable to lower end sennheiser wireless iems (and I've used even cheaper units that aren't tolerable), they give plenty of clarity throughout the frequency spectrum, and they have not cut out at all during live performance. The frequency band they are on seems to be pretty decently uncommon so there has not been any interference either. I would especially consider these suitable for a group of musicians. Seriously worth the cost, and in my opinion way better than I expected! Definitely give them a shot! I've also used the Xvive wireless IEM system it is clearer, reliable, but not quite as strong of a signal and has cut out before due to interference!

This is my second of this unit. Love em. The packs are plastic but they hold up okay. Nothing beats these for the price.

I was nervous about this because I e used other similar units and had terrible white noise come through the IEMs. This one is great. No noise except the music you want to hear.

bought PTM-22 with 8 body packs bundle for church worship. It has been working well. One of the two channels stopped powering up after several week usage but was replaced by a new one sent by Phenyx?support?team

Good wireless iems for the price ……looking at the 4 channel mono ones that just came out.

Performed well in my show…looking forward to getting the new 4 channel mono ones..

I absolutely LOVE this IEM, only takes up 1u for TWO systems and not to mention the price, Anything else in this price range that I have tried has not been anywhere close to this unit, I love the fact that you can move the antennas to the front, I’ve never been able to do that in another unit within this price range. Absolute bang for your buck and absolutely phenomenal if your just starting, Ive been playing professionally now for a few years and still resort to using these over anything else. Phenyx, You guys have outdone yourselves!

I tested this system with a small worship team and it performed great and it didn't break the bank compared to other systems. With all the other wireless devices, these did not cause or experience any crosstalk or interference which is a great thing.I've recommended these to a few ministries and they have all been happy with the performance. These were used with a digital and analog mixer with similar performance.

I got this item 6 months ago. Seems solid and im very satisfied with it thus far. I got the 2 receiver version and it works pretty nice

We got this set of IEM’s as a budget option for our outdoor worship events. The receiver packs are entirely made of plastic. I am afraid someone will break off the battery cover at some point. It’s definitely not build to be a rugged daily driver in a professional setting. However, I was very impressed with the sound quality. I didn’t discern any distortion or artifacts that I could tell. They get plenty loud, both because of the transmitter gain, as well as the receiver level giving you plenty of room to push it to 11.When things were very quiet in testing, it appeared as though they were cutting in and out, but I quickly figured out that there must be a built-in gate going on. When ambient mics pick up just enough sound, you would notice a gate effect engaging and releasing, making it seem like the units were losing signal, when in actuality, it was the sound effect being generated through the system. I wonder if this is Phenyx’s sneaky way of eliminating any possible hiss or hum at low volumes. But, as I said before, I didn’t discern any artifacts to speak of to need this. Maybe this is a typical feature of IEM’s? IDK?The range is pretty descent. This was probably the biggest worry I had while shopping around for IEM’s, knowing that other budget IEM’s have had a history of cutting out at 10ft away. In my own testing, I found that Phenyx was able to get a very reliable signal up to 50ft away even with obstructions like people, furniture, or trees. As I moved past this distance, I noticed that obstructions started causing them to drop out. At more than 75ft, it drops out pretty consistently. This is excellent range for our situation, given we keep our IEM rack next to the stage.Overall, I am very pleased. I would highly recommend this to churches who are looking to get into the IEM game without spending thousands. Other than the cheap build quality of the receivers, the sound quality is very nice.

This is a great system for this price point! I use it professionally and it works very well.Belt packs are plastic but well made. There is no scan feature so you have to pick a channel but it's in the 900mhz range and I haven't had any issue.

I use this as a wireless PA system, and it rocks. Even if you use it for the monitoring like it’s designed, it works great!
