I am a professional musician and I gig out around 5 to 6 times a week currently. Last night I hosted an open mic event in Cincinnati, Ohio, and used these microphones for the first time. The clarity and response to the full range of vocal spectrum is amazing. They pick up every nuance of a person, singing voice. They seem to be built very well, and the range is spectacular. I am including a couple videos of two of the participants of my open mic event using these microphones.

This wireless microphone system will handle any need I may have. The eight handheld microphones allow plenty of options when stting up for a concert, group discussion, karaoke or town hall meeting. The one-up receiver saves rack space by fitting all 8 units in one compact component. This system is ready to perform the minute thebox is opened. There is the rack-mountable receiver, eight wireless microphones, eight colored anti-roll rings which can also be used to identify each microphone, eight foam windscreens (which are vacuumed shink wrapped to save space, 16 batteries and a quarter inch cable to plug into your mixer, amp, powered speakers, etc. There are also 8 balanced XLR ports on the back of the receiver for separate control. Four UHF antennas plug into the receiver for signal reception. The wireless mics are metal, not plastic, and will take some rough handling. The capsules are hardwired to the transmitters so they are not interchangeable. The bottom half of the mic housing unscrews to access the battery holder as well as the controls for frequency tuning. Each mic has 20 frequencies to select from for venue coordination. The usable range is 200 feet. This system is part of a product family, so accessories are available. Bodypacks are available if needed. Valuewise, this makes great sense if you need a lot of microphones and are short on rack space.

About 4.5 stars. Comes with many extras including the mike covers and anti-roll rings for each mic.This is a versatile kit. It gets high marks for ease of use, plug and play mostly. What I'm most impressed with is that you can output individual channels out the back to your sound board, OR you can send out the entire mix in a single output and regulate the volume of each mic separately in that mix, or both! Great flexibility. The only concern I have had is with the tone being a bit on the dull size because the upper Hz ranges are dialed back a bit, and there is no way to actually EQ each channel, not on the receiver unit itself anyway. I've been doing that directly from our sound board, which is just fine. Yeah, the mics lack a bit in the upper midrange. The sound is not "muddy", it's clear, but could use a little boost.Antennas are all easy to mount, and all of the materials in this are very sturdy. The mics are fairly light, and yet the heads seem to be constructed very solid, so no worries there. Good set.Have not tried this in a live setting yet with a PA or monitors, but because they sound alright in general I don't think that will be an issue when the time comes for that. Mostly using these for multiple vocals in a recording environment. They are good for that.

I Received the PTU-4200-8H from Phenyx Pro and I have been absolutely pleased using these microphones. I used them in a live setting two times and in several practice sessions and I’ve not had any drop outs or distortion of any kind. The sound is crisp and clear and the battery life is great. These microphones come with colored anti roll sleeves that you can use if you need that they also come with pop filters which I thought was a nice touch and batteries for all the microphones and the receiver also comes with rackmount ears that can be attached as you can see in the pictures i opted to use them or it can be used desktop. The build quality is great the microphones are metal and feel really good with a great screen that shows you any info you may need as well as the receiver is metal with a great screen. Now time for the cons and I only have a couple one issue I had with the microphones and it’s not a big deal just preference is that it only shows the channel letter for a very short time and then changes to the frequency it would be nice if they displayed abcd etc the whole time. Another is the mute option the microphone kinda goes into sleep mode and the screen goes out and only displays the battery life after a while so when you go to mute the microphone you have to push the power button once to wake up the microphone and then again to mute it. It would be nice if you always only had to push the button one time. The last con is at least in my case if you have the gain up to high on each channel the receiver picks up noise and is then transmitted to your speakers it was a learning curve to get everything adjusted but with a little work they sound awesome. The Phenyx Pro PTU-4200-8H is awesome. I have now added it to several other Phenyx Pro Products that I own. My band will use this setup every week at practice and will now have versatility at our gigs. Our plan is to pass out the eight microphones to our audience and encourage them to sing WITH US on some tunes. We are a small five piece band and do not charge for our shows, however we do get tips. Thankfully, Phenyx Pro Products are affordable for bands like us and the quality is outstanding.

Really great product! Our choir really loves it, best part is we don’t have each bring our microphones because this is for all of us!

Love these mics. We installed them with our new sound system at church and they are working great. Good sound quality. And to the average person we can’t tell a difference between our shure microphones or these.

Perfect for homes and churches! This mic set is awesome. Very good quality as each mic is made of metal and not plastic. Perfect for multiple kids karaoke party so they won't fight over who is holding the mic. The Mic uses AA batteries which last surprising long. Each mic has individual frequencies and individual volume adjustment. There are also eight XLR outputs to run to your mixer individually, or there is one mixed 1/4" output. Using in an home or church environment, the sound quality is perfect and I did not have any transmission issues. In the box, it also comes with color coded rings for each mic, and also have tabs for the receiver for rack mount applications. Overall, this is a very high quality set.

I've used Phenyx Pro Wireless Microphones for several years now, and generally, the quality of the microphones outperform their price point. But in my opinion, what really makes them stand out from others within a similar price range is the professional look and feel of the mics in hand. This is an 8-mic system that works the way I've come to expect from Phenyx systems. They have a good weight, (all metal construction) which makes them feel professional, and the controls are intuitive. Unlike my favorite sets from Phenyx Pro, I thought this eight microphone system had fixed frequencies that could not be altered, but it turns out there is a total of 20 frequencies from which to select for each channel. I don't mind fixed channels so much when dealing with this many microphones because it saves me the trouble of having to find clear frequencies, but there is room to find a better frequency after all. All of the handsets seem to work rather well, but there is the occasional glitch from time to time from when using perhaps four or more at once. The mics sound clean, fairly low floor noise and no static except when there is the noticeable interference glitch. What would certainly help is using these mics with an antenna distribution system to clean up the interference. Perfect for churches, schools and business use when on a low budget.

I had a little trouble getting these to hook to the receiver. Once done they worked well. The mic capsules aren't top of the line but they do sound fairly good for the price point and they work great for most vocal needs. I used them for the first time at a seminar and had great results. The range was good and the microphones look great.Build quality is pretty good but not great. I would definately move them around in the box they came in or some sort of other case as I don't think they will stand up to being tossed in a small bag.It was nice that the batteries were included and the battery life was actually pretty decent but you'll want to keep plenty of batteries on hand.The receiving unit was easy to set up and get plugged in. It feels fairly well built but again I would try to keep it in the box or come up with a case when moving them around.I would have to say that for the price this is a good deal for most uses. 8 wireless microphones plus a receiver is actually a pretty good deal and having used them I feel like that if I take care of them they'll give me a nice service life.

Included are the mics, receiver, antenna, mic flags, batteries, power supply, audio cable, rubber feet, and manual. I own the two-mic system with the same mics and was excited to order the eight-mic system. The audio quality is clear, reproduces sound well, and doesn't overdrive the signal. I believe the low end is a little heavy but that can be EQ'd out easily. Battery life is very good. I used the same mics in a live band for two singers. They sound great without any noise interference. I would say they are as good, if not lightly clearer than SM58s. I also have a karaoke rig and this system fits the bill very well. I will replace my current off-brand, four-mic system with this system. I will also pull my two-mic Phenyx system out of the rack so that I only need one system. I will always have the two-mic system as backup. The mics are made of aluminum but the receiver housing is made from metal.

8 mics, decent build, easy setup. Not sure it reaches the full 200ft, but the sound is clear and reliable. Great value for a big group or events. Recommend.
