Recently purchased the Phenyx PTU-71 wireless mic system with two lapel mics and two headset mics. I couldn't be happier with them. They have over 200 channels to choose from for synchronization and also have auto-sync.The sound is crisp and clear. They work for well over 200 ft. The unit works flawlessly and is a pleasure to use. I highly recommend this item for audiophiles and DJs. I plan to order the microphone pair to add to my inventory.
This Phenyx Pro PTU-71 is outstanding. I have now added it to the other Phenyx Pro Products that I own. In the pic you will see the PTU-5000 and the PTU-7000 and now the new PTU-71. My band ( The Wise Guys ) use this set up every week at practice and will now have versatility at our gigs. As you can see, the rack is now over crowded so the next thing we need is a new rack. Used the unit for the first time and it far exceeded my expectation. The clarity and depth is absolutely great !! The range, and auto scan function is a great feature. I own 2 PTAU-2's and I got used to the auto scan so this is great. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product.
I had our lead pastor use it for his preaching for the last two Sundays and I also walked around the sanctuary singing on it while playing my guitar during the week, multiple times.I must say, I was very impressed at the sound (vocal singing) of the mic out of the box. I kept the channel EQ (no effects) at default and the mic itself sound pretty good. For two weeks I used it while solo-practicing my Sunday set in the sanctuary with my guitar.Although it seemed really good, I did run into a signal issue with it. My techs didn't catch it in the first Sunday that we used it (so i'm not sure if it happened), but the following Sunday, the antenna had random signal drops. They were very quick drops that it wasn't obvious in-house, but it was obvious in the stream and recording. I recorded a few of the dropouts on my phone to include in the video.Overall, I think it's a great system. Our lead Pastor definitely love it, I recorded his comments on video. We've had other head-worn & earpiece mics before, like shure and countryman. He usually never liked head-worn coz they always seem to move about his head and gets into his hair. The countryman ear mics on the other hand gets so easily mangled and twisted. So we do like the headset that came with this system.
This unit is great for weddings if there are having a outside wedding the headset microphone is great and the vocals are clear , the little microphone that clips to your lapel or collar has a softer vocal with some echo in it. How ever this is a great setup for the money.
Phenyx Pro PTU-71-2B review
Good evening everyone. I recently received the Phenyx Pro PTU-71-2B. This unit came is a very nice package shrink wrapped for protection. Upon opening the box it came with everything needed to get set up and use right away. This unit comes with a base unit and 2 body packs that each has both headset mic and a lapel mic. Set up was very easy and quick. The sound quality is top notch even on a lower priced unit. Vocals are very clear in speaking and even singing. This unit would be a great unit for churches, DJs , teachers, or any where a hands free microphone is needed. Very light weight and noncumbersome. The body pack while made off plastic but still looks professional and is very sturdy. If you are in the market for a hand free headset lapel mic and on a budget this unit is one to get. Very satisfied from beginning to end with this unit and can’t wait to use this with my gospel group as we have revivals, singings and other events where this will definitely come in handy. I highly recommend this unit.
I got to try out the PTU-71 2B this past weekend. I used it at a wedding to mic the minister. The ceremony was on the little island behind my reception setup. The mics were very clear. I did pick up a little bit of wind noise but that is to be expected. I really look forward to using these again and giving you guys a more in depth update. I will say they were definitely clearer then my ptu-5200d and I really like the new design for the body packs.
Just used these for a wedding and they did great! Used a lav from this pack and a handheld from another and had no issues through the ceremony. The only thing I’d like is the ability to disable to mute buttons. I don’t want someone to accidentally mute their mic and not know to turn it back on.
Finally had time to pull out and test the PTU-71. I had a wedding that was going to be my test for this originally but it had cancelled on short notice. I used a Bose S1 battery powered speaker as the audio device. The quality of sound great and the receiver quality is solid. The bodypacks are made of plastic and are really light and seem really cheap in build. The sound quality and coverage does make up for the bodypacks plastic feel and instructions are straight forward. There are no advanced features such as sensitivity and frequency control. That’s located on the receiver exclusively. Performed very well but make sure to check your local TV broadcast stations to make sure you stay away from their frequencies. Read the manual.
This wireless mic system with (2) lapels and (2) headsets comes with a lot for the money. Batteries are included which is a nice touch. The foam covers for the mics help to cut down on wind noise. It sounds great and is very clear with normal speech using the lapels. The mics have a cardioid pickup pattern, this helped with picking up the other persons voice. I purchased this system for the lapels and I am very happy with the purchase. The range was great even without direct line of site. I highly recommend this mic system.
I have a small studio at my house and this dual wireless system is perfect for recording voiceovers, singing or interviews. The audio is clear and clean. The range on the system is good, I was able to go 30ft and still have good signal and I could have gone farther. Phenyx Pro Dual Wireless Microphone System is a very good system for the price! Whether your using the headsets or the lapel mics you'll be pleased with the performance! I should have added this to my studio sooner.
This is perfect for church or small uses like private events and birthdays.I recommend this product.

I can't compare the mics to the Audio Technica that I am using for our church P.A. system. I am using this for a control room-to-organist talkback system. For that purpose, this wireless mic system is exceeding my expectations. The wireless range is outstanding compared to other systems. The mic packs are easy to use with a single button system and LED display. Could they be better using an on/off switch rather than a button? Probably. But, that's nit-picking.

I’m very happy with the purchase of this reasonably priced microphone system. So far I’ve used it at few shows with no technical difficulties. It is very easy to set up and seems to have a very long wireless range with no cutting out.
