Another quality item by Phenyx Pro. First off the unit was packaged well. Everything was well protected. After unboxing and using the unit the quality is well made. All items fit well where they should. Comfortable to hold and not bulky at all. The units connect right up without any any difficulty. The range is good. As a mobile dj I have yet to find a better mic system for the money.Only negative would be it doesn’t come with ears to be able to rack mount it.

The range is good. I love that the units have variable frequency.

Pros:1. Pretty easy setup2. Comes with almost everything you need for a 4 mic kit.3. Durable mics and belt packs4. Good selection of frequencies to work with and not too hard to setup or change.5. 4 XLR or 1 x 1/4" mixed outputCons:1/4" Output isnt RTS its only 2 conductor RTDidnt test frequency interference in a live environment yet.Doesnt come with basic 19" rack ears. No reasonable way to use this setup without the messiness of having everything on a table.Handhelds have a bit of contact noise on the shell when handling them. Seems it could use more insulation around the core of the mic to avoid the bumps and hollow taps that can show up from exchanging hands, or taping the stand.As a professional DJ and Audio Engineer this is an all around good basic setup and definitely worth the price. Comparable kit in Sennheiser or Shure would cost $1800-$2500 but there is a difference in features. Phenyx has brought a good entry level kit to market and I recommend it for those hobbyists and those on a budget. Its hands down better than its competitors from HARMAN and Pyle.I would give it a solid 4.5 stars** Will update this review once we have tested it live in a show.

The PTU-5200 is an excellent choice for a good value product mic system for smaller needs.Pros:- The handheld mics sounded pretty good without much EQ.- The handheld mics feel very heavy and sturdy. They are made with a metal casing and have an even weight in the hand.- Set up was very quick once I learned how. It is a bit different from their other mics, like the PTU-7000. Frequency is set on the transmitter, and the reciever will change itself automatically.- The receiver can be rack mounted with an optional bracket set. This is not often found on a set for this price.- Volume can be controlled from the receiver and transmitter. I personally don't use this, as I am mixing on an M32 or similar digital console that has much more precise control, but this is a good feature for plug and play.Cons:- The lavalier was very boomy and didn't pick up much without a high gain and careful EQ to reduce the lower end of the spectrum. The headset was much better, though, as its placement could be modified to reduce these aspects.- The body packs didn't feel as sturdy as the handhelds. They were made of plastic whereas the handhelds were metal.- The range in a bigger auditorium wasn't the greatest, as these are not true diversity microphones. With the addition of paddle antennas, such as the PAS-225X, better range and less dropouts can be found.- The capsule itself in the handhelds is soldered onto the pcb, unlike other systems where the capsule can be removed and replaced with contact pins.Some things I'd like to see from Phenyx going forward:- Mute lock. The ability to lock the mute button from the inside of the transmitter would really seal the deal on these. In many cases, you do not want the presenter or performer to mute their own mic and currently there is no way to prevent this.- Battery readout on the receiver. You are able to see battery levels on the transmitter, but not on the receivers. It would be extremely helpful to have this information on the receiver so you kn.

I have been thoroughly testing this product for the last week and a half and give it 5 stars for a rating. These are going to make a great addition to my mobile DJ rig. I mainly use my PTU-7000 Receiver and mics but I am going to be bringing this PTU-5200 with me on events to replace my current backup and/or if someone needs a lapel microphone as I don't have a body pack for my 7000 series.For the price of this unit you cannot beat what you are getting. This is the 3rd Phenyx Pro product that I have added to my system, and I could not be any more pleased with what they bring to the table.This unit is non-rackable by design as they have other products at the same price point that are. Though I would not mind seeing a rackable version as I really like the feel and look of the receiver and mics vs the 5000 series. I like the choice of color scheme used for the displays. You can clearly see and read what frequencies you are on. I like the 2 BNC antenna design vs the 4-antenna design, though I imagine that is why you get 200ft of range vs 328ft like the 7000 series. You get individual channel XLR outputs or a single 1/4 inch for all signals to one output. The receiver is also lightweight making it easy to move for mobile applications. The components are well put together internally as you don’t get any rattle if the unit is shaken. The volume knobs are a little close together for people with bigger fingers, making it a tad difficult to adjust volumes on the inner two channels without accidently adjusting another channel. The volume knobs turn nicely though and adjusting them does not provide feedback to the system. The handheld microphones are nice and lightweight with a great feel in your hands. They may dent easy but if you take care of them like you should, you won't have any problems. The lightweight design of these mics does allow a bit more hand fumbling noises through, but if you adjust your volumes on the microphone themselves just right you are able to mitigate.

I'm a professional DJ with over 25 years of experience. I always saw ADs for this company until I finally was able to get this mic set. I took a bit to do this review since my purchase because I was doing some live tests. I tested the range in 3 weddings and never lost signal. The audio quality is great and I come from using Shure mics. This set gives you 2 handheld wireless mics and 2 headsets plus several accessories. The unit can be used individually per mic channel which there's 4 or you can use the quarter inch cable provided and you can use all 4 mics at the same time.

The PTU-5200B is a great system for small churches and venues. Range is great with the built in antenna alone, but I have been using it in conjunction with the phenyx pro (PAS-225X) antenna distribution system and multiple other microphone systems including Sennheiser g3 and shure qlx series I am currently using it in a 75x90 foot auditorium with roughly 40 foot ceilings. I have not had any drop outs. The sound quality is fantastic I have used the handhelds for vocals and I have used the body packs for speaking rolls in a large performance, I did swap out the lapel mic for a thinner headset microphone, though the lapel is very good quality, it was not suitable for my talent. The microphones are very easy to use and and very non tech friendly. All in all a very good buy.

I was so surprised by how good of a system the Phenyx Pro Wireless Microphone System, 4-Channel Wireless Mic Set with Handheld/Bodypack/Headset/Lapel Mics (PTU-5200B). I walked around with each mic, headset, and lapel and I had great distance I walked in and out of different rooms in the building and still had good reception and the clarity on the system is awesome. These mics sound amazing have used them at 2 jobs and have been very impressed. The lav mics work very good with no interference. I am seriously thinking of adding another set of these to my collection.

Really impressed with the audio quality on the headset and wireless mics especially. I had everything unpackaged, tested, and up and running within 15 minutes. The simplicity of the 4 volume knobs and outputs on the back of the receiver made it so intuitive. Trickiest things is probably just gain staging correctly between the mic/pack and volume knobs on receiver since there are multiple places to add gain.My favorite feature: If you change to a different frequency on the microphone or wireless pack, the receiver also changes.I also love the locking 3-pin usage for the headsets/lapels/packs. Very pleased with this system.

These are great microphones and I love that I was able to adjust the frequencies to have them work for our church. Ww have a digital mixer and another set of these microphones and they are all working well together.

I received the Phenyx Pro PTU-5200-2H2B Microphone System and had a chance to unbox it. This is not my first Phenyx Pro product so I was not surprised by the excellent packaging. I connected it to my mixer and once again was impressed with the quality of the product and especially the sound. You will not be disappointed with this budget friendly system.
